My Family and Interests

I live in Iowa City, Iowa with my mother, Esther, and our dog, Sydney. In my non-ministry time, I enjoy hiking and camping, dog training, gardening and preserving food, making art, kayaking, and traveling.

My younger sister’s family lives in San Diego, my older sister’s family lives in Iowa, and some close friends who are family to me live in the DC area and New England. I’m delighted to be an auntie to many great kids aged 12 - 25.

My ministerial friendships across the US are an important part of my community and support system. I love having strong roots and place-based connection, but I’m also grateful to have lived in so many parts of the country and to have such strong connections around it.

My mother, Esther, and I adopting Sydney in January 2025. Sydney began her life with us as a foster dog with a lot of challenges. After 4 1/2 months of intensive work, we had bonded with her and decided to give her a forever home.
