Religious Education, Facilitation, and Leadership Development
Some religious education classes and workshops that I have taught after either adapting them for length and format or after personally developing them include:
- Articulating (Y)Our UU Faith, a 2 hour workshop I adapted from a 5-session, 2-hours each session course that Rev. Barbara Wells and Rev. Jaco B. ten Hove originally developed. I co-taught this at UUS in fall 2024 and 2025 with ministerial interns.
- "Creating and Recreating the Greenest Church in Iowa", a workshop for the Iowa Faith and Climate Network and "Questions for the Journey," a talk given to kick off the Iowa Faith and Climate Network's Climate Informed Ministry Cohorts.
- "Noticing In a New Way," a 1 1/2 hour workshop I developed and gave at UUS about attention and awareness as spiritual practices.
- "The Shared Pulpit," a 5-session, 2 1/2 hours per session course that I adapted from the longer course developed by Rev. Erika Hewitt. I taught this once at WUUC and three times at UUS.
- "Trauma-Informed Ministry," a workshop I led for staff during an annual staff retreat.
- "Compassionate Connections Circles," a session design I developed to guide Pastoral Care Associates to lead these circles after worship services at UUS.
- "Back to the Future," a 2-hour workshop on appreciative inquiry that I gave at WUUC.
- "Doing Right by Mother Earth," a 5-session, 1 1/2 hours per session course that I developed and taught at First Church Boston.
